The CRM system uses printing of price tags with a generated barcode image. Some products have a barcode with a length of 13 characters (EAN-13), others have a length of 12 characters (EAN-12).
When generating an image for EAN-12, the system automatically adds an extra 13th digit https://monosnap.com/file/hpETSV9usXtobVfEX4JlbbDBSe7mot , which results in the barcode not being in the product database after printing and scanning.
Is there a variable in the system that allows you to correctly generate a barcode image in the EAN-12 format? If there is no such variable, evaluate the work for generating an EAN-12 image without automatically adding extra digits.
Additionally, I would like to ask you to evaluate the development of a universal variable that will automatically determine the format (EAN-12 or EAN-13) depending on the length of the barcode and generate the corresponding image, if such a solution can be implemented.

There is no EAN-12 format as such, it is UPC-A with 12 digits, rather its generation is not in the system
In EAN13, the last digit will always be formed separately when constructing the check digit, this is a check digit and is calculated according to its own principles.
