I can not understand what exactly will happen when I perform the steps you describe? Will the data be updated, overwritten or deleted?
Another question about these checkboxes:
1) "Delete old product filter values." - when this checkbox is selected, it only removes the filter values, not the filters themselves? What is meant by "old"?
2) "Overwrite product filter values."
And do these checkboxes work in pairs?

I have a product with a bunch of characteristics, in the xls file I left only those that I need and made the settings that I described. After that, in my product, only those characteristics remain that are in the xls file and with updated data
