Failed to change the process number, this number is already in use

Hello. In our database, when moving to a new stage - "Assign an author" in the "New order" business process, an error is generated - "An error occurred. We could not change the process number, this number is already in use"
Can't figure out where to fix this.

Answers:

Each process has a Process ID field. If you tried to enter a number that is already in use in the system, you will see this error. To disable this check, you can go to System Settings -> Checks and uniqueness and uncheck "Unique process number"

Thanks for the answer! I have process numbers assigned automatically, maybe the BP itself is trying to assign it ... And what can the disabling of this check affect?

In the list of processes, you will see several processes with the same number. Should not affect performance
