I think this is a bad idea. In some cases, it will not be clear exactly how you created the contact. Looking at the history is not 100% providing a solution to the problem. Can you somehow filter users in the list of users who need to delete phone numbers? It is possible to make for example a field in the panel of mass changes. You filter the contacts you need, click on the "delete phones" checkbox, and all filtered contacts will have their phone numbers deleted.
