1) So you have a non-mvp version of the system (that is, an older one)
I assure you 100% - this has been working for at least 3 years. If it was different for you before, it means that you did not choose a legal entity in the process.
2) Even if you change the legal entity in the process, it will not change the payments. There are several options here - either you edited the payments in bulk, or a bug happened ... The developers will be able to say for sure, but only if there is a link to an order example, since no system is linked to your account
