In theory, you can do this, display a folder - and under it files with an indent on the left (the block will visually be the same as now, it will just be a "header" with the name of the folder and highlighting that this is a folder).
Well, without a directory, the files will be at the bottom without an indent on the left.
Turning this on/off will be a setting in the block.
